Samiha Jahin Chowdhury Etu
Bangladesh University of Professionals
I’m a Legal Research Intern at BD Opinion Juris and currently pursuing my LL.M. at Bangladesh University of Professionals (BUP). From my keen interest in legal research and writing, drafting analytical articles, I’ve explored children’s health and education rights, environmental law, climate justice and sustainability, corporate law, law on refugees and minorities, and human rights law. Other than the academic commitment, I was engaged in the BUP Law and Moot Court Club and was an Associate Head (Communication) of the BUP Human Resources and Leadership Club. With long-term involvement, I’ve developed my communication and organizational skills, critical thinking, ethical and professional conduct, assessment and problem-solving skills, and legal and policy expertise. I’m optimistic and persevere with my passion for becoming a legal scholar, researcher, or a prominent contributor through my compassion and resilience for upholding justice in the nation.
Learnings and experience from the project-
With the assistance and guidance from the Adviser and Research Associates who help me to foster my thinking, analytical, teamwork works and legal research, and writing skills for the project. I’ve explored many national and international legal frameworks, policy gaps, and approaches for addressing the concerns of Refugees and Minorities. It has built an interest inside me to work in this area and for the people who are deprived of their rights. The project of BD Opinion Juris with its Internship programme offers us to gain hands-on experience by exploring the lacuna and prospects of various legal fields and to serve with intellectual knowledge.
